My son has been slowing down on his bracelet making in recent months, but he still has hundreds of those little rainbow loom bands. He came home from daycare yesterday with a new project he learned from a girl there. I was happy because it would start to use up some of those bands! He was excited to share with me how to make a Rainbow Loom Band Bouncy Ball and asked if I wanted to take pictures of the process. I thought that was a great idea, so if your kids have tons of those mini colored bands hanging around, here’s a fun craft that they’ll enjoy making and enjoy playing with even more!
SUPPLIES:
Rainbow Loom Bands (I used Glow in the Dark Ones)
Piece of paper computer paper
How to make a Rainbow Loom Band Bouncy Ball:
Tear off a small piece of paper
Roll the paper between your hands to create a ball.
Wrap the paper with the bands. I switch it up, several just wrapped once, and one or two wrapped twice – switch it up as you go.
Keep adding bands until you can no longer see the paper… and then add a few more layers – you want it to be about the size of a normal bouncy ball! Make sure the last 3-4 bands that you add are wrapped around the ball twice. That’s it, you’re done! Now it’s time to start playing!
