DIY Holiday Gifts That Look Luxe (Not Lame)

DIY Holiday Gifts That Look Luxe (Not Lame)

I want nothing more than to have a lucrative side-gig to finance my extreme love of gift-giving, however, that's just not in the cards at the moment. I've DIY'd many gifts in my time (some great, some...not-so-great) in an effort to save a few bucks, and to offer more meaningful "made-with-love" presents. However, finding a way to give gifts that don't look cheap and crafty can be tricky. Until now, that is. Let these 16 projects assure you that it is in fact possible to create hand-crafted Christmas gifts that are way more luxe than lame.

(Above) This easy loop handle box from Homey Oh My makes a great gift on its own, but can double as a reusable (and totally chic) gift box as well.

These rose petal bath salts from Paper & Stitch have luxury written all over them. Package your concoction in corked glass bottles for ultimate luxe.

Your friends and family will never know that their gift was handmade with love thanks to the fancy labels provided in this tutorial from Sarah Gibson. See how to pour your own scented candles, with wood wickers, of course.

Scented rooms sprays are very luxe. Snag some of your favorite blooms while they're still in season, dry them, and create the perfect scent for your hostess friend. Not to mention, they'd make a pretty great accent to your powder room counter. Check it out on designlovefest.

Give the gift of holistic health with pink Himalayan salt bars from the Free People blog. And give your loved ones a reason to relax and detox this season.

This one's for all the plant people. Make marbled planters like this one from Vintage Revivals using swirled spray paint.

Geometric earrings are all the rave right now, and for good reason, but the prices can be a bit steep. Make your own following Laura's tutorial and your friends will definitely thank you.

For the phone addict in your life, make a dual-purpose leather tassel key chain phone charger from The Art of Doing Stuff. They will surely text you a big "Thank You!" every time their phone battery drops below 10%.

Or create a fun leather scalloped iPad case to keep their devices looking fresh and fancy. See how to make this one over on the Mormorsglamour blog.

Gifting art can be tricky, but a neutral and elegant wall hanging is sure to go over well. Customize the colors, and try out different shapes by following Erin's tutorial.

Go for maximum opulence on a minimum budget with faux black marble candle holders from Fall for DIY. The best part? You can easily make them in large batches and give them to all your friends!

For the person who loves hosting, make a marble and copper serving tray. See what to buy and how to assemble it over on Almost Makes Perfect.

Keep it simple with gold dipped ring dishes as seen on She Wears Many Hats. They're easy to make, affordable, and still very luxe.

Swirls of color and dusting of gold, these galaxy coasters are a must-make this year. Check out Kailo Chic to see the fun technique used to create these table top stunners.

Make custom barware with a simple project from A Beautiful Mess. And maybe throw in a nice bottle of booze to win gift-of-the-year amongst your friends.

Or try your hand at glass-etching for a more stately look. Lee walks us through the steps over on Brit + Co.
