In case you’re looking to make a DIY gift that…doesn’t look like you made it… I’ve got you covered! Especially when it comes to the parents. They’re always the tricky ones (love you, Mom & Dad!). You can never go wrong with gifting photos to parents, and this DIY flip photo album is both equal parts easy to make and uber classy.
Marble, stained wood, and gold aren’t the first things most people think of when it comes to handmade gifts, so you’re already winning in my book. Add a few Instax mini prints (I’m looking at you, Fujifilm!) to it, an old fashioned embarrassing story, and you’ve got a Grade A gift, my friends!…
Materials
4.5 x 4×5 wooden square
Pencil
Using a foam brush, stain all but the bottom edge (the surface you’ll be gluing to the marble base) of the wooden square. Let it dry completely.
Hole punch the Instax Mini prints of your choice in the middle of the top white border with a 1/8 hole punch. Lay two prints side by side on the board to use as a guide to mark where to insert your hooks.
Mix together the Loctite epoxy glue, and brush on the bottom of the wooden piece, then quickly place on the center of the marble and let dry completely.
I told you the about the time I gave my Dad a homemade clay magnet replica of “his truck” that was neon colored and patchwork, didn’t I?! Ah, yes, those were the good days. Do you all have any gifting horror stories from you younger years?! Let’s hear em’!
Thanks to Fujifilm for sponsoring this post, we’re huge fans!
